Rare for Jigsaw but looks like time is on our side this go round. The Saw reeboot release has been scheduled up to May 2020 – 5 months sooner than the original and traditional release date.

Saw has been scheduled for an October release since the past 8 features. With Chris Rock, Samuel L. Jackson, and director Darren Lynn Bousman on board with Lionsgate and Twisted Pictures, Saw breaks tradition of it’s usual October release to a 2020 summer date. The movie has been scheduled to release May 15, 2020.

The franchise is taking on plenty new strategies with the Saw 9 reboot. The new release date puts Saw in prime summer movie season and in competing titles with Warner Bros. animated Scooby-Doo reboot which is scheduled to release the same date. The five month advance shows confidence in the screenplay based on Chris Rocks storyline

Rock will headline as a detective, with Minghella (“The Handmaid’s Tale”) co-starring as his partner, William Schenk. “Riverdale” actress Nichols will feature as Captain Angie Garza — aka Rock’s boss and Hollywood star Samuel L. Jackson will play as Riverdales father.

Still, the plot remains under wraps but we can look forward to a teaser trailer sooner than later. Much sooner… 5 months sooner! Saw 9 reboot, reboot, reboot!

Literally minding my business while adding my two cents. How does that work?
